Taiwan Trip Day 6
Written at Monday, April 11, 2011 | back to top

4 April 2011 - Monday

Taiwan Trip Day 6
::Tainan - Kaohsiung::

we overslept again, woke up at 7.15am, chionged and went out for breakfast at 8am. oh well, they served very simple breakfast, salad, egg and bread. haha

after breakfast, we have a short tour around the hotel, as our hotel is like a mini farm. they have animals and fruits/plants tour for us. we were brought around to see pigs, goats, dogs and rabbits, they even let us plucked mini strawberries =D

after the introduction from that very handsome guy, bring our tour for this morning. we were left with very limited time, i think only like 20 minutes, to go back to our room and pack our stuffs out as our bus will be leaving at 9.10am.

but instead of going back to our room, we decided to do some jumping shots and we found a pretty big and spacious area which was enough for us to jump till we happy. we dragged Samson in and jumped with us too xD

jump jump jump!

ya, bags were out and we were ready to leave the place. such a wonderful relaxing place, abit unbearable but we still have to go.

next destination, we will be heading to E-DA Theme Park which was located at Kaohsiung. a pretty long 2 hours bus ride as we are travelling from Tainan all the way to Kaohsiung.

the start of Day 6

a photo with the cute guy who brought us tour around xD

bus arrived!!

munching on the bus

after 2 hours of bus ride, we finally reached E-DA Theme Park at 11am. we were given 5 hours of free & easy time for us to play around the theme park. but then, we decided to shop and take pictures, and we did not have enough time so we gave up playing all those rides. those rides the queue so long, we will be wasting the time if we were to queue.

and so, we we spent the entire whole afternoon with shopping, shopping and more shopping. then arcade and lastly, followed by lunch. the place was pretty big, the building can linked to one another

E-DA Theme Park

all the mascots for this theme park

a stamp on our hand so that we can enter

map of E-DA Theme Park

after we entered into the theme park, the first place we went was the "Magic Water", it's a some kind of souvenirs shop and selling some cute and unique items, i remembered this was the place i bought my zodiac sign keychain and, the colourful dice and the apple keychain for my friends xD

this rhino mascot is named "Da Yi"

looked at the crowd outside

and the ride which we didn't take any at all.

we walked from one shop to another, spamming lots of pictures. we even ended up at arcade to play. we really took alot of pictures, so pardon me if there's more pictures than words.

where to go next?!

Santorini Store

the inside

Candy Kingdom

so cute

love pictures

yay. and now we entered into the arcade world. saw this very cute machine which allowed us to make our own cotton candy. like so cool eh! Lisa and me decided to give it a try, so we followed the instructions, and make our own cotton candy.

the machine

reading the instructions

following it step by step..

ta-daa! and we're done! hah

time to play!!!

DDR and some music rhythm game

haha, and guess what! i spotted my pig-rabbit inside those UFO Catcher. yes, the pig-rabbit in the korean drama "You're Beautiful". haha. i tried alot of time to catch it, but failed terribly.

Lisa came and she managed to catch one for me. and i didn't know she's such a pro. she managed to catch 4 pig-rabbits. just nice 1 for each of us! haha

the pro UFO Catcher.

4 pig-rabbits

yay. each of us got one!!

and up next, my favourite basketball game =D

hoho. my score!

haha, and now we 're done with this building. time to exit out and continue on the next building. and it's so super crowded and hot outside. and what's more, it's not even the weekend sio!

and luckily we managed to catch all the mascots doing parade. they parading from one end to the other. Ginnette was there to run after the rhino! haha

escalator out!!

more rides outside

mascots

and what's next now?!

our horoscopes

all of them

and ya! the parade...

haha. and after that, we walked back in to the building for air-con. and we continued to shop awhile more before looking for a place to have lunch. seriously, we were all famished!

welcome to E-DA Theme Park ^^

the Mystical Corner

mystical Da Yi haha

wow, love the huge drumstick!! i want bring it home and hug!

decided to have our lunch at this restaurant

very retro feel

drinks

and my set lunch

i found my lunch so-so only, not really that delicious. but it's okay, just need something to fill our empty stomach. at least, my gastric doesn't feel that pain anymore. we were walking randomly when we saw this very interesting pikachu game which 2 kids were playing.

so we decided to give it a try after the kids left. our first attempt failed, we totally have no idea how to play, until we further analysed, we then realised how to actually play it. it's pretty cool, we managed to win 2 pokemon postcards ^^

pikachu game

i love pikachu!!

finally, it's time to leave the place. we have been here for almost 6 hours, time flies pretty fast eh. back to the bus which they brought us to the next location, to visit the late singer, Teresa Teng, memorial museum.

oh well, i don't really fancy the place. since we were brought here, just walk walk see see look look loh. just some photos of her, a story of her, her late items and so on. they were even selling some of her old albums too! haha. well, we only stayed down there for a short 15 minutes and then back to the bus to our next location.

Teresa Teng Memorial Museum

everything here belongs to her

yeah, back to the bus and here comes the interesting part. the bus is sooo big and the bus driver is going to make a u-turn on this super small and narrow lane. the bus did it in a slow and steady way, and at the same time, it jammed the road too lol.

all the motorcycles, vans and cars have to stop there to wait for the bus to move out of the way. what an interesting sight! hahaha.

*bom pi pi*

next, most probably the last location for the day. we were brought to Liuhe Night Market. as compared to the previous few night markets which we went, this can be considered as the not-that-happening one. there's lesser shopping here, but mostly FOODS!

nothing much to shop or buy, we divert our targets to something to munch! hahaha. the first thing is to chiong my 15 winds - KOI milk tea. most probably my last day of having it in Taiwan. Lisa and me decided to have it for our last day, while Ginnette and Shalee decided to try another brand one.

i bought Green Tea Macchiato

it's more like a food streets

signage!

Lisa was happy because she bought her big big squid!!

we bought small small foods to share, there were so many foods, but time given was too short. so we can only tried some. but i don't know why their sausages tasted totally different from Singapore. their one tasted not that nice, pretty horrible. like some china sausages lol.

sesame chili chicken cutlet

棺材板 coffin board?
i have no idea what's up with the name. does it look like a coffin to you? haha

the sausages! bleh

time passes pretty fast, it's 7pm already, 1,5 hours of walking and eating just gone like that? i felt like just started only loh. that's one thing i don't like about tour group, the time they gave is totally not enough at all.

and so, back to the bus and they sent us back to our hotel, and our hotel is actually called the Best Hotel. lol how funny! and we've got 2 queen size bed. hahaha..

anyway, after we put down our bags and all those, we decided to make full use of our last night in Taiwan. take the train for the last time, to Central Park to do last minute shopping.

we wandered out by ourselves, looking for the nearest train station. but due to renovation and construction going on, alot of road was block. we have to go by another routes, and we ended up lost our way. and this was a pretty funny moment, we saw a police station from far, and we decided to pop by to ask for direction. lol.

it's kind of a funny scene to them, seeing 4 girls walked into the police station, not to make police report but to ask for direction to Kaohsiung Main Station . lol.

our room

before we leave..

the overpass

police station =D

Kaohsiung Main Station

this is by token... previously at Taipei is by card tapping =)

yay.. up the escalator!

and we reached the Central Park Station

and down the escalator ^^

finally, we reached Central Park at 9pm, so excited to spend our last night here. we decided to munch on something first before starting the shopping spree. the Ireland's Potato kind of attracted all of us and so we went in to give it a try. we bought one and share together.

and so, we spammed money on one of the candies shop again, that's the best place to get souvenirs for friends because their chocolates and candies all came with unique, pretty and interesting packaging.

after that, we walked out to the so-call a night market outside for more shopping and foods items. pretty interesting place.

President Shopping Mall

Ireland's Potato

one small bowl, shared by 4!! haha

Shalee and me bought sausages outside.

and not forgetting this funny tine little cute design cake

we spent 3 hours down there walking, shopping, and so on. finally, we left the place at 12am since all the shops were about to close. took a cab back to our hotel, did some last minute shopping at a Family Mart which was just located opposite our hotel. i bought 4 cup noodle preparing to bring it back to Singapore the next day, and some chocolates and seaweed to munch for supper.

yeah, and back to hotel. instead of packing our luggage, Ginnette and me went over to Lisa's room and party down there. everyone looked rather tired, Shalee was the first to KO, leaving the 3 of us in a daze. so we decided to spam pictures since it was the last night already.

the money/tipping for the tour guide and the bus driver.
四位美少女 - that's what the tour guide called us throughout the whole entire trip =D

and the spamming of photos start now.....

boring people doing silly pose

Ginnette and me went back to our room at around 3.10am. to sleep? NO! we have yet to pack our luggage yet. there's still many many things not yet sort and pack. everything must go inside the luggage, these 6 days we bought too many things already. i burst my luggage with totally no room for anything else.

things bought at E-DA Theme Park

things bought at the Night Markets

foods bought at Family Mart opposite our hotel.

fetish for yellow chick/duck/bird and so on
that explains the 10 years plus of love for Tweety Bird and Pikachu ^^

in the midst of packing...

my things were totally in a mess.
how to squeeze all inside my already-burst-like-mad luggage?!

haha. actually i have already dug out a 4th bag to put all my leftover things. but Ginnette managed to help me squeeze everything into my luggage, hand-carry and my backpack. and so i will only be carrying 3 bags back to Singapore.. oh my, 3 bags are torturous enough!

and so, everything was packed within an hour, and we went to sleep at 4am.
