Krabi Trip Day 1
Written at Tuesday, June 01, 2010 | back to top

25th May 2010 - Tuesday

Thailand - Krabi Trip Day 1

we were sleeping soundly and who knows there's this bunch of very noisy indian family with us in the plane, with alot of kids. and what's worse, we're surrounded by them. so noisy and annoying. and they're seated right infront of us =S a bunch of 没有礼貌的小孩!!!!

and finally we reached Krabi International Airport at 8.30am (7.30am Thai time). like finally!~ so excited!!!!

got to remind myself that Krabi is just like a little town, so the airport wasn't that big. and our plane landed pretty fast, it's like our plane just touched down, and the next minute the plane already parked nicely at the allocated place. haha.

waiting to get our passport stamped ^^

we waited quite long for the queue, got our passport stamped and we went to look for the guide who will be picking us up! it's quite easy to find our tour guide as there's only 2 guides at the airport at that hour. haha.

and then, we have to wait for other people under the same tour agency as us... we waited for quite some time.. from standing we ended up sitting on the floor xD

grabbed 4 Krabi map and sat down on the floor analysing it...

and soon, more and more people were already here, but still short of one family. and after waited for another countless minutes. that family finally appeared and we were like "ohhh please, not them! not them!"

but too bad.. it's really them... the bunch of noisy indian family.. OH NO!!~ =.=

oh well, whatever! and so we proceeded out to our tour bus. and we actually didn't expected there's a half day tour for us. pretty surprise surprise!! haha. we thought we'll straight be sent to our individual resorts. haha. ahhh, thay guy at the travel agency didn't told us =/

hurray!! at least we got to explore Krabi with guided tour xD

in the bus..

our first destination was The Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Sua). it's a 1 hour bus ride from the airport. there's a few monkey running around there. lol.

the main tourist attraction in the temple is the 1,237 steps climb up a limestone tower to the top mountain to see the "footprint of a Buddha". but due to time constraint, we didn't get a chance to climb up. what a pity =/ i wanted to get to the top to see the 360° views of the surrounding countryside and the Andaman Sea.

entrance of the temple.

1,237 steps to the Top Mountain

laughing buddha and others buddha..

mini waterfall!!~

Xue Ni and me infront of Goddess of Mercy!

Tall building with 4 dragons and 2 tigers.

Dragon....

and Tiger...

the place was terribly hot. i offered joss stick to the buddha there and made a little donation there xD. quickly set timer and took some group shot before heading back to the bus.

next, we were brought to one little tiny shop house located at some isolated place for breakfast. and the breakfast was included in the package for us for free xD.

there's 3 choices for us: Duck Noodle, Pork Fried Rice & Vegetarian Fried Rice.

in the bus to our next destination...

shop house

glass bottle drinks!!

omg. glass bottle cola tasted incredibly nice. so much nicer than plastic bottle and can one!! the drink wasn't included for us, so we have to pay for it. it's 15 baht ($0.65). so cheap and you got to taste the real coke taste xD. SUPERB!~ *BURP*

anyway, Ginnette and Xue Ni chose Pork Fried Rice, i'm thee only one who choose Duck Noodle and Fazillah left with no choice but to take the Vegetarian one. she can't take the Pork one and i just got to know that malay can't take duck?! huh?

my Duck Noodle wasn't that bad. tasted like Singapore one. very herbal-ly kind of soup xD hahaha. but i don't really like the herbs and spices inside =/

GLASS COCA-COLA

our free breakfast!!

and a group shot with our foods =D

well, and i have not really introduced OUR BUS!!!

and the whole stretch of road

GOTTA GO!!~

back to the bus and rest. it's another 30 minutes bus ride before we reached our 3rd destination. it's some kind of local product shop selling dried food, keropok, souvenirs and some hand-made products.

walk-walk, see-see, look-look. and we ended up leaving the shop empty-handed except for Xue Ni who bought 2 packets of Keropok back to Singapore for her family =D

in the bus towards our Local products shop

entrance of the Shop.

playing around with the toilet signs. haha.
their signs were pretty cute. like so shy =D

back to the bus after the toilet break. we travelled for another 30 minutes to reached our 4th and also our last destination at Krabi Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center.

and we see all kind of fishes.. and my favourite NEMO!~

not to look at Xue Ni angry face =X

FISHES!!~

KISS GOODBYE!

and so, that marked the end of our half day tour at Krabi. the driver drove batch and batch of us to our individual different resorts. there's a total of 4 resort hotel and ours will be the last resort to go. we spent the rest of the 1 hour ride in the bus sleeping. catching back our lost sleep the previous night =)

when we were woken up by the noise made by those noisy indian family alighting down the bus, we were so relieved that we need not see the noisy people and the bunch of 没有礼貌的小孩 anymore.

and when it's our turn to alight, and made our way to our Krabi La Playa Resort, and then... we saw the indian family already seated at the lobby. *faint* WHY? why same resort as us?!?!?! AHHHH!~

our fabulous KRABI LA PLAYA RESORT!!!

our guide helping us to check in to our rooms.

and we're located at Ao Nang

and after waited for 20 minutes and so, we're given our room key and off we go to see how great was our room.

Room 404: Fazillah and me
Roome 405: Ginnette and Xue Ni.

Room 404: 1 Queen Size Bed
Room 405: 2 Single Bed

introducing Fazillah and my room.

ehh, i think the room was wonderful with big balcony and they have elephant made by 2 towels. haha

one unique thing about the toilet was.. there's a wooden window you can open and see the entire room. who would want to open the window when bathing and let the people inside the room to see?! lol.

and one more thing.. the toilet has one showerhead at one corner.. and the bathtub at the other corner. lol. they're not combined together like the typical hotel toilet... you can choose which way you want to bath. haha.

after that, we went over to the other room and decide where to go next...

@ Ginnette and Xue Ni's room

drawing lots.

suddenly we decided to change our sleeping partners every night. initially we started off with alphabet indicating our names, but we kept on drawing the same people. so we changed and wrote the room number instead.

and so my next sleeping partner in day 2 was Xue Ni.

and so, out we go to explore the place on our own.. we were looking at the map at first, but ended up going into the Tourist Information to ask for direction to the nearest beach.

well, the nearest beach was Ao Nang Beach which was just not far away from where we were..

Tourist Information!

walked past a minimart and stopped by to buy Sunblock Lotion. it's meant for our swimming and 4 island-hopping in day 3. i don't want get burnt skin =X

NIVEA Sunblock Lotion which costs 480 baht ($20.80)
cheap? expensive? i don't know!

and not to forget..
ice-cream is best for this kind of HOT weather.
@ 15 baht ($0.65)

finally, we reached Ao Nang Beach... we spent our time walking from one end to the other, taking photo, picking up seashells and enjoying our first day in Krabi.

individual beach shot

HELLO AO NANG BEACH!!~

and thanks Ginnette and Xue Ni for the beautiful scenery shots!!

BEAUTIFUL AO NANG!

nice shot, isn't it?

ended our beach tour, and up to the Ao Nang street selling all kinds of souvenirs. basically selling those things that only tourists will buy. lol.

and they also have many restaurants in between of those souvenir shops. and it's time to have our early dinner there.

Ao Nang Street.

after walking back and fro choosing where to eat, we've finally decided to eat at Royal Tandoor Indian Food. they not only served Indian Food, there's Thai and European food as well.

our delicious food.

Fazillah chooses Spaghetti Bolognese, Ginnette chooses Spaghetti Alla Carbonara, Xue Ni choose Kaeng Keow Wan (Green Chicken Curry) + Cheese Naan , and as for me.. of course i would like to try Thai Delicacy - Tom Yam Kai (Tom Yam Soup with Chicken) + White Rice. totally love the sour + spicy combination xD *BURP*

ice lemon tea

why are we waiting?

Bill please!
total bill: 885 baht ($38.30)

and then, back to our room for our next activity. there's a swimming pool inside our resort, of course we must made full use of it. so quickly made our way back, i'm the one who was leading and i walked the wrong way =p i turned in to the alley too early, and the 3 people behind me followed blindly. haha.

and we ended up at this place.
not bad, a beautiful house surrounded by tree vine/branch?

left the place and we walked the correct way back to our resort.

this is how our resort looked like from the outside

inside the lift..

back to our room and changed to our swimming costume. went over to Ginnette's room and POSE AT THE BALCONY!!! haha.

totally love our height.
in equal level!! haha

one last picture before we went downstair to the swimming pool.

the pool was quite deep, but we still can be seen if we tip-toe. haha. nothing to be scared of.. because we knew how to swim xD. okay, besides Xue Ni who is scared of water =D i piggy back her and "drive" her around! lol.

stayed inside the water until we can felt the coldness when the wind blew, get out of the pool and back to our room to bath.

VERY COLD!!~

back to our room and bath. that chlorine water in the pool made my hair looked totally dry and wavy. no matter how much conditioner i spammed on my hair also no use ='(

freshened up. time to go out walk walk.

it looked like it's drizzling but it's actually not =/
we were fooled by the weather.

went outside to the night street and we're eyeing to eat something at the pushcart... Fazillah and me bought a Chicken Burger each at 60 baht ($2.60), Ginnette and Xue Ni shared a Strawberry Jam Pancake

in the process...

our Chicken Burger.

in the process....

Strawberry Jam Pancake.

and the 4 of us bought a bracelet each @ 25 baht ($1.10)

we booked our Full Body Milk Massage through the lobby receptionist, and we paid 400 baht ($17.30) each. and this would be my first time doing a full body massage. and i'm pretty worried i might kick the person as i'm scared of the ticklishness. lol. BEWARE!!~

and we have to remove all our clothing, and i'm left with my undergarment. ahh. felt so molested!! haha. my weak point was my waist and thigh, and i'm okay with my foot. that lady kept on pressing on my waist and thigh that i'm down there BEAR WITH IT!! haha.
and the best part was the last ending part where she has to lock hand and crack your bone. omg, i'm so afraid my fragile bone will break into pieces!~ LOL.

and after massaging, Ginnette and Xue Ni came over to our room and we do photos circulating to each other's thumbdrive, harddisk, laptop, etc. and lastly, looked back on that day photos and LAUGH IT OUT LOUD.

Sweet Dream!~
